Hi there!  Goodness!!!  It feels like forever since I have blogged.  Probably because it has been a LONG time!  Actually a really long time! I thought I started the summer in a frenzy….that was just the beginning of a crazy storm that was headed my way.

  • At the end of May I sprained my ankle during the Mudderella mud run/obstacle course and couldn’t walk for a couple days.  I missed work for a day or 2 and working out wasn’t even an option.
  • In June, while my ankle was healing (like one week later) my mother was rushed into emergency heart surgery.  She had three surgeries in less than two weeks and was moved into a rehabilitation center before going home.  Sleeping in a hospital and taking care of a sick mom did not make me run to the gym.
  • After taking care of my mother my body decided it wanted to get sick and I had a crazy cold the first week or so of July!
  • At the tale end of that blasted summer cold my hubby and I were able to go on a sweet get away to Florida.  It was beautiful.  Unfortunately, I had a virus that apparently may have been dormant in my system and something or someone (we went to Disney World where people all over the world visit) on the trip triggered the virus leading to today being one month of fighting it!  I was in the hospital for six days and I missed three weeks of work to rest and let the virus run its course. Thankfully I am feeling better and fevers of 103.8 are not happening any more! Praise the Lord.  I’m definitely not 100% better but I’m getting there!

This is just a quick glimpse as to what my summer has looked like.  As much as I love What Size Was Eve and updates on social media, I really did not have the physical strength to post updates daily and blogging was not possible.  It’s amazing how life changes so quickly.

Unfortunately, working out and eating plans have taken a backseat and when you are so sick mashed potatoes and jello are a great eating plan!  Currently, I am resting as I hope to regain enough strength to head back to the gym.  I want to respect my body and listen to it but I also don’t want it to become lazy as all I have done is for last month is lay down.

This week I was blessed to go back to work but the days have been tough.  I am blessed to have an amazing work place and a very understanding Fross (Friend/boss) who is working with me patiently as I get back to myself.

If I could title my summer it would be “When It Rains It Pours!”  Thankfully, I am beginning to see the rainbow at the end of this rain storm, just a sneak peek of it but enough to keep me motivated.  I am grateful that throughout the storm my trust in the Lord grew, the respect and love I have for my dear husband grew and my vision for WSWE and what I can do with God’s help to make this journey successful was reignited.  Storms are bad but the rainbows are beautiful!

I can’t wait to be back and in full action.  I am so excited for all that’s to come.  Thanks for sticking it out with me!

I hope and pray you either are in the rainbow season or your rainbow is close by!

Be encouraged today…We can do this…The best is yet to come!

  1. Praying for you cuz! The Lord knows why He allows these seasons to come and go. His ways are perfect and so is His timing. This is something He’s reminding me of in my season. Hold steadfast onto Jesus and let Him be your strength. Love ya! 🙂
