Today is weigh in day again! I can’t get over how quickly this day comes. I also can’t get over the pit in my stomach that I feel right before I step on the scale aka my arch nemesis.
This week I have lost another 3 lbs. and I could not be happier! I am very content with a 3 lb. loss. What a difference from the first weigh in huh? After my first weigh in a friend from college, named Christie commented on my blog about how TV has changed the way we view weigh-ins. Shows like the Biggest Loser show people weighing in losing up to 20 lbs. in the first week. I didn’t expect that but in my little head I thought I’d get more. I had the Biggest Loser Expectation with a Average Loser lifestyle a.k.a. a NORMAL life with a full time job, 4 workouts a week as opposed to 8 hour work out days and I don’t have a surprise chef who comes in to teach me how to cook amazing meals. If I worked out as much as they do throughout the day I would be dropping huge numbers also. BUT I’m not. I’m living life one day at a time, eating one meal at a time and growing spiritually and trusting in God more as every minute and lb. goes by.
I will confess I wasn’t able to work out 4 times, I worked out 2 times but I made sure I ate well; I won’t make 2 workouts a week a habit. I used to complain about how tired I was at work….EVERY day! I really thought that being tired was just the way I was meant to feel. Apparently it’s not. After losing 17 lbs. I feel amazing!
If you have yet to get on your scale or find people to be accountable to I encourage you to do it! In just the past few weeks I have become accountable to you and myself and I am reaping the benefit of it. I feel so good, my life is changing and I know this is ONLY the beginning! If you have started your journey and are seeing the benefits then keep going, if you are stuck and need motivation to move forward reach out to someone close to you and ask for accountability. I pray for you every day! We are in this together and we will conquer this together. One day we will step on the scale and view it as our friend and NOT the arch nemesis…I hope today you take your first step in that direction.
Be encouraged today…We can do this…The best is yet to come!
