A few of my close friends have said “Madelynn, you can type shorter blogs,” what I hear is “Madelynn, your blogs are too long!” Just kidding (Not really)!  So I am going to attempt to write less and do it more often!

This week has been hard.  It’s as if something in my mind changed.  Last week I was on it!  I was positive, happy, in control and on top of the What Size Was Eve World!  I wanted to eat every healthy thing I could get my hands on, do every work out and shout from the top of my lungs (without an inhaler) about how great I was feeling.  This week I slid off of the WSWE world; I always feel hungry and I just want to stay home and nap!  That’s the truth!  For those who follow me on Facebook you can see, I am not falling off the wagon, I am eating my veggies and trying to be healthy (I do have my one cheat meal a week…or sometimes two). What I find myself wanting to do is shoving two cups of frozen yogurt in a single measuring cup (question, if the two cups fit does it still count as one?).  I am tired and in my little brain I feel justified in not having to do anything!  Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate life and I am not crying on the couch eating ice cream (hmm, that sounds sooo good right now…sorry), it’s not that kind of change.  It’s the “THIS IS NOT EASY” change!  It’s the “BUT DRIVE-THRUS ARE SO CONVENIENT!” change!  And let’s not leave out the “WORKING OUT HURTS, DURING AND AFTER!” change!

This doesn’t mean I am giving up…That’s not an option.  I know I have to give myself LOTS of grace.  I am changing many years of ugly habits in just a couple of weeks.  I want to encourage those of you who are struggling to keep moving forward.  We can’t give up!!!  The easy route is giving up; apparently I have been on the route for far too long.  I am fighting now to stay consistent.  Sad to admit that had I not had you supporting me I may have gone quite a few steps back already.  That’s insane…it just takes 2 weeks and I would be ready to throw in the towel.  If you are there….KEEP MOVING!  We have to do it.  I can see myself now…healthy!!!  Close your eyes (wait, read this first) and just picture yourself healthy.  Now open your eyes.  I did it…And the woman I saw was better, more confident and happier, she made that second cup of yogurt not worth it!  I’ll stick to one!

Your support blesses me daily!  I pray today is your day!

Be encouraged today…We can do this…The best is yet to come!

  1. Mama I already confessed to you earlier that I was so ready to take the easy route today for lunch and just pop some of my kids pizza puffs in the oven and be done…but thinking of you and others that are walking this walk as well I made a better choice. So thankful for the accountability. We encourage and cheer each other on! Blessed! !

  6. I have to confess… I’ve been in an everlasting battle with myself since you started this blog… seen your posts and that of everyone else and yesterday after eating a not so healthy dinner, well Momma did make brown rice so it was kinda healthy….lol, I sat at the table re-reading your blog and said “GLENDA, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?”
I said to Josue, “Let’s go!” He asked “Where?” I replied “We NEED to WALK!”
I got up yelled down the basement door, “ME VOY!” Momma came running after me and we WALKED… I have to admit, IT FELT GOOD! I realized that NOONE will lose weight for me, I have yo stop being LAZY and JUST DO IT… lol…
I said all this to basically say… Mads, (ok tears coming on) you were there for me in one my darkest hours and pushed me to fight for my relationship with God… Now, once again, with your inspiration and tenacity, you are making me WANT to be a HEALTHIER me!!! And become the woman God wants me to be, a Healthy one! Gracias seestel!!!! xoxoxo Lo-ve ju MUCHO!!! #TeamWSWE #WeCANdoThis

  7. Mad you continue to encourage me daily. I have started to eat more vegs; believe me more than usual and meats. I cheat and add some rice when I make it twice a week. You know that a Puerto Rican without Rice is lonely :). Brown rice too is excellent! Also kinowa, is on the markets list this week. A cup full of kinowa (?), vegs and a piece of meat will do me well. I Praise God that getting back to health; will decrease my blood pressure, back pain and of course my arthritis. Can’t wait to see what God has ahead for me. Restore a Heart. Transform a Mind. Empower a Life => A Gift of Value (This was seen on Facebook this past week from a Women’s Conference in Waukegan. Great words for today too ). Together we can overcome 🙂
